The Gramophone, a classical music magazine which has been publishing for almost 100 years, has made a touching announcement. The magazine informs its readers that the Oxford choir, Commotio, has recently recorded a CD of Christmas music. This includes the work, On Christmas Night, by the British composer Bob Chilcott who has developed a strong reputation for writing accessible choir music, especially Christmas carols. Noting the poignancy of the title, the recording has been dedicated to Alan Greaves, our organist who was murdered on Christmas Eve. The CD is being released by Naxos and will be available before this Christmas at budget price.
Maureen, Alan's widow, has been deeply touched by this dedication. We hope that many people in High Green will buy the CD this Christmas time in memory of Alan.
