Today is Maundy Thursday, the day before Good Friday. It is the time when we remember Jesus having a final meal with his disciples, his followers. In John's Gospel the story is told of how Jesus washing his disciples' feet, the act of a lowly servant. He explains his actions and then commends his followers to show acts of love too. In Matthew, Mark and Lukes' Gospels the emphasis is upon Jesus sharing bread and wine with his team, explaining that they are sharing in his death and his body & blood.
Tonight at 7.30pm at St Saviour's we are preparing for a simple but powerful service as we celebrate these themes.
