This morning St Saviour's had a special Holy Commuion service focussed on the memory of Alan Greaves.  The service was sad and sober yet it was an act of worship following on the theme of Christmas.  The Bishop of Sheffield preached and Maureen made a short but very touching speech (you can listen to Bishop Steven and/or Maureen by clicking on their names).
Of course, the anguish of loss continues.  But we were able to celebrate the coming of light into darkness and to acknowledge that the power of God's love in Alan is brighter than the evil that attacked him.
