St Saviour's Community Project has been running the Friday Feast (an evening meal open to all to help fight poverty and create community – a two course meal cooked on site adults £1, children eat free) for over a year. However, we have always aimed to do more than simply provide a glorified soup kitchen. We aim to help people help themselves through encouragement and support. Therefore we have teamed up with Heat & Eat to offer advice on energy etc. This starts today at St Saviour's Church Hall between 4.00 and 5.00pm, before the Friday Feast. Additionally, we are now trying to help people to develop skills. So we are using a chef to show people how to make attractive and affordable meals by cooking simple and cheap ingrediants.
We hope in this way to serve the people of High Green by working with them in partnership.
